Numerous environmental regulations and laws dictate that oil and gas operations be conducted in ways that mitigate impacts to the surrounding areas. We all want a quality of life that includes fresh air and clean water, abundant wildlife and vegetation, and unobstructed open spaces.
GulfTex Energy utilizes many processes and techniques to ensure environmental sustainability including:
Drilling
- Reduce carbon and surface footprints by drilling multi-well pads quickly, efficiently, and safely
- Eliminate on-site pits and limit disposal by recycling drilling fluids and using closed loop solids control
Completions
- Reduce water usage by recycling water during drill-out operations
- Reduce emissions by utilizing “green completions” during flowback operations
- Reduce environmental impact by minimizing the use of chemical additives
- Reduce silica dust with use of sand boxes
Production and Facilities
- Mitigate the risks of spills by using lined metal containment and soil cement pad construction
- Multi-well pads eliminate the need for multiple heater treaters, tank batteries and flares
- Capture GHG emissions and reduce flaring by sending tank vapors to sales using recovery units
- Reduce leaks and emissions by using low/no bleed pneumatic controls, electric or solar power when available, and having a LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) program in place
Infrastructure and Land Use
- Reduce truck traffic and eliminate storage tank emissions with crude oil and produced water pipelines
- Minimize surface footprint by reclaiming unused acreage
