Mr. Sauer joined GulfTex Energy in 2023. Prior to GulfTex, Mr. Sauer was a Managing Director with Kayne Anderson Energy Private Equity for over nine years, where he was an investment committee member and co-manager of the Energy Fund franchise. In addition to portfolio management across four active funds and over $3 billion in AUM, Mr. Sauer served on numerous portfolio company boards, working with management teams to originate and structure transactions in the lower middle market.  Mr. Sauer started his career at Wells Fargo, spending the first two years in Debt Capital Markets followed by six years with Wells Fargo Energy Capital.  Mr. Sauer received a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M, and an MBA from Rice University.
